Strategic financing secures HKD9.028 billion for Goodman Group’s data center platform

A&O Shearman has advised the lenders on three parallel financings totaling HKD9.028bn (USD1.15bn) in connection with the establishment of the Goodman Hong Kong Data Centre Partnership.

The Goodman Hong Kong Data Centre Partnership is a new USD2.7bn investment vehicle holding four stabilized and two data centers under development and is the only private institutional investment platform focused solely on Hong Kong’s data center market. The transaction required close coordination across the teams in charge of each of the financings, facilitated by A&O Shearman’s project management team.

Roger Lui, lead partner, commented: “A&O Shearman has had a long-standing relationship both with Goodman, as well as the lenders on these three financings, which enabled the transaction to progress with minimal friction. We thank Goodman and the lenders for their trust on this important transaction supporting Asia’s digital economy.”

The transaction was led by debt finance partner Roger Lui, supported by senior associate Tiffany Tam, senior associate Frank Wang and Peerpoint consultant Kevin Yao, as well as associates Charles Leu, Jessica Fong and Kate Mao, trainees Sheryl Chu and Kevin Lo. Peerpoint conveyancing specialist Kylie Wong advised on real estate aspects of the transaction. Partner Prakash Segaran and associate Xuan Ting Chin advised as to Singapore law.
