A&O Shearman advises Revera Energy on credit facility to accelerate their renewable energy deployment pipeline in Australia and the UK

A&O Shearman advises Revera Energy on credit facility to accelerate their renewable energy deployment pipeline in Australia and the UK

A&O Shearman advised Revera Energy on an expanded USD150 million credit facility to advance late-stage battery storage, solar, and green hydrogen projects across Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM) and the UK in support of grid resilience and the energy transition in both markets.

The expanded facility is expected to further streamline execution of Revera Energy’s integrated model across storage and renewables projects, which provides critical grid services and helps bring projects from development to operation at scale.

Funding will advance priority milestones across the pipeline. In Australia, this includes construction of the 150 MW / 300 MWh Bungama Stage 1 battery project in South Australia, delivery of at least 600 MW / 2,400 MWh of additional NEM battery capacity, and optimization of 158 MW of operational solar farms in New South Wales; and in the UK, development of at least 1,000 MW / 2,000 MWh of late-stage battery projects, starting with a 200 MW asset followed by 800 MW over the subsequent 12 months.

Revera Energy is an independent energy infrastructure platform focused on developing, building, owning, and operating critical energy projects across Australia and the UK. Backed by Carlyle, Revera specializes in battery storage, renewable power, and green hydrogen solutions that support grid resilience and accelerate the clean energy transition.

“This financing supports Revera Energy’s continued growth and reflects strong market confidence in their platform. It also demonstrates our firm’s ability to navigate the complexities of multi-jurisdictional transactions for our global clients.”

In 2025, A&O Shearman advised Carlyle’s Infrastructure Group on its launch of Revera Energy following a carve-out of assets from Amp Energy.

The A&O Shearman team was led by New York-based Energy and Infrastructure partner Dorina Yessios, and included Washington, DC-based partner Gideon Wiginton and associates Domingo Rios and Juan Santiago.
