The bond pays a fixed annual coupon of 3% and is issued under Poste Italiane’s EUR2.5 billion euro medium term notes (EMTN) programme. The notes have been admitted to listing on the regulated market of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and on Borsa Italiana’s MOT market.

The A&O Shearman team was led by partner Cristiano Tommasi, supported by counsel Sarah Capella and associate Paolo Martellone. Counsel Elia Ferdinando Clarizia advised on tax aspects.

Cristiano Tommasi, partner, commented: “We are pleased to have supported the financial institutions on this transaction, which underscores strong investor interest in the return to the Eurobond market by Poste Italiane and attests the depth and resilience of the European and Italian capital markets.”
