A&O Shearman is advising Boston Scientific Corporation on its proposed acquisition of Penumbra, Inc., announced earlier today.   

The acquisition is projected to expand Boston Scientific’s cardiovascular portfolio and provide scaled entry into mechanical thrombectomy and neurovascular, key strategic adjacencies. Penumbra’s comprehensive portfolio includes differentiated devices to treat complex conditions.

Penumbra offers innovative mechanical thrombectomy products for peripheral vascular procedures. Its neurovascular offerings include solutions for access, stroke revascularization, and neuro embolization, supported by ongoing innovation and clinical evidence to broaden patient access.
