A&O Shearman advised arranger on financing of Emeis’ senior residences business acquisition in France

A&O Shearman advised the arranger on the financing arranged for the acquisition of Emeis’ senior residences business in France by TwentyTwo Real Estate and Azora Capital, for approximately EUR160 million.

The transaction covers the entire French portfolio of Emeis senior residences, consisting of 16 recently built assets, totalling nearly 1,900 units. The portfolio includes seven residences currently in operation and nine recently delivered and vacant properties. Management of the residences will be entrusted to Les Jardins d’Arcadie, one of the leading operators in the French market, under a long-term management agreement.

“We are proud to have supported Société Générale in structuring this strategic financing, which underpins the development of a major player in the French senior housing market.”

The A&O Shearman team was composed of partner Caroline Delavet, senior associate Chloé Detroussel, and jurist Corel Ndagang for the financing aspects, as well as partner Xavier Jancene and senior associate Alix Pallier for the real estate law aspects. Partner Mathieu Vignon and associate Carole El-Beze advised on tax matters. In addition, the A&O Shearman Madrid office also contributed to the transaction.
