Indemnities are commonly used in commercial contracts but are tricky to draft and interpret.

As a Senior Knowledge Lawyer in A&O’s commercial team, I have recorded a short video for Practical Law considering the use and meaning of two common phrases used in indemnity clauses-to hold harmless and defend.
