Thuy is a highly experienced finance lawyer who helps clients navigate complex and diverse domestic and cross-border financing transactions. 

She has deep expertise in corporate finance, including acquisition and share-backed financings. Her practice also focusses on project finance, particularly in renewable and thermal energy. She has successfully represented lenders, borrowers, sponsors, and guarantors in numerous high-profile syndicated loan and projects.

  • Commercial lenders and ECAs on the financing of the USD9bn Nghi Son Refinery, the largest refinery project and one of the largest project financing in Vietnam to date.
  • International commercial lenders on financing for Vietnam’s leading corporates and financial institutions, including Vingroup, Vinhomes, VinFast, Masan Group, Novaland, Home Credit, FE Credit.
  • The joint MLAs and bookrunners on the USD950m Euler Hermes-backed export credit to VinFast, Vietnam’s first wholly domestic car manufacturer.
  • ADB, JICA and other international financial institutions on loan facilities to BIM Wind Power JSC for the development of 88MW Binh Thuan Onshore Wind Farm in Ninh Thuan Province, southern Vietnam. Renewable Energy Deal of the Year - Wind, The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards 2023.
  • United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) as transaction counsel on its USD200 million loan to Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank.
  • Siam Commercial Bank and Thailand Export-Import Bank on a loan in respect of the 68.8MW TTCIZ-01 solar project (GTN1) in the Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam.
  • The joint lead managers on Vingroup’s Regulation S offering of USD500m 3.00% exchangeable bonds due 2026. The bonds are listed on the SGX and are exchangeable into shares of Vinhomes, a real estate subsidiary of Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest listed conglomerate.
  • The lender on a green credit loan to BCG-SP Solar 1 for the development, operations and maintenance of a portfolio of up to 100MW of C&I rooftop solar PV power projects across various sites in Vietnam. Renewable Energy Deal of the Year - Solar, The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Awards 2023.
  • BDO Capital & Investment Corporation in relation to a USD90 million term facility to finance the acquisition by KKR-backed EQuest of Khoi Nguyen Education in Vietnam.
  • Lenders on O Mon 2, Dung Quat 2 BOT, Song Hau 1, Vinh Tanh 1 BOT, Vinh Tan 4 and Thai Binh 2, and Vung Ang II BOT thermal power projects.
