Kristin Bong

Senior Associate

Kristin advises clients on a wide range of investment fund matters, including the establishment of investment funds across a range of asset classes, including real estate, private equity, private credit, infrastructure as well as funds of funds and joint ventures.
She is also part of our tier 1 institutional investor practice advising sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, development finance institutions, insurance companies, family offices and other institutional investors on fund investments, co-investments, funds of one and managed accounts across all asset classes. She also provides advice for asset managers on key regulatory matters affecting the sector, with a focus on ESG and sustainability related regulation.

Experience

Representative matters

  • A Singapore-based manager on the establishment of private equity funds, structured as a Singapore umbrella variable capital company structure.
  • A Singapore-based manager on the establishment of a venture capital fund, structured as a Singapore non-umbrella variable capital company.
  • A global asset manager on the establishment of an open-ended global transport and infrastructure fund, structured as a Luxembourg limited partnership.
  • A Singapore-based manager on the establishment of their China-focused programme as part of its sustainable urban renewal strategy.

Pro bono

  • Managing the activities of the social finance and impact investment practice group across the Firm.
  • Advising and training advisers for pro bono legal advice clinics in London. 
  • Representing individuals in British citizenship applications and Exceptional Case Funding applications with the Home Office and the Legal Aid Agency. 
  • Research and representation work on accountability for sexual and reproductive health rights in conflict zones, including through advancing the UN women, peace and security agenda and engagement with CEDAW. 
  • Advising a social finance intermediary on a performance-based funding mechanism for rural drinking water services in Africa.
