Dr Daniel Widmann

Senior Associate

Daniel focuses on domestic and international disputes where he advises domestic and international companies.

In particular, he focuses on litigation and arbitration proceedings with regard to commercial agreements such as distribution, supply and agency agreements, as well as post-M&A and energy disputes. 

In international arbitration proceedings, Daniel regularly represents clients in commercial and corporate disputes under the arbitration rules of international arbitration institutions such as the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS). He has also represented clients in court proceedings before the European Court of Justice and the General Court of the European Union. 

Prior to joining the firm, Daniel worked for a major international law firm in Frankfurt am Main and Miami (USA), representing clients in large-scale M&A transactions as well as arbitration and litigation proceedings. 

Experience

Representative matters

An Austrian investment group as part of a large and multi-firm legal team in the aftermath of a corporate acquisition involving potential accounting fraud and other claims in the high nine-digit range. The claims are asserted against several parties and in multiple jurisdictions.

A leading a leading continental European energy conglomerate in various pending large scale disputes relating to (long term) gas supply agreements.

Pro bono

Supporting an international NGO in relation to applications of vulnerable Afghan citizens under the German Federal Admission Programme for Afghanistan (Bundesaufnahmeprogramm für Afghanistan)
