Anthea specialises in corporate and commercial law and local and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

Anthea’s experience includes advising on public and private mergers and acquisitions, company law, general corporate transactions, re-organisations, contract law and corporate governance.

Anthea also has experience in conducting legal research and advisory work on compliance with the Companies Act, 2008, the Listings Requirements of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and the Takeover Regulations.

A healthcare information, services and technology company on its acquisition of the entire issued share capital of Medpages Proprietary Limited.

Aviapartner on the acquisition of a majority interest in NAS Colossal Aviation Services (RF) Proprietary Limited.

A South African insurance company on its internal restructure and sale of 25.1% of its issued share capital – deal value ZAR32,800,000 (previous firm experience).

A South African company’s exit from the company group, which was structured by way of a share buy-back – deal value ZAR400,000,000 (previous firm experience).

A South African listed mining company with its restructuring and re-domiciliation to the New York Stock Exchange (primary listing) (previous firm experience).

A South African governmental department on the procurement of services for the upgrade of infrastructure – deal value R190,000,000 (previous firm experience).

Pro bono

Assisting the Solidarity Fund with general commercial advice and drafting / reviewing contracts with various service providers in an effort to combat the effects of COVID-19 and other natural disasters (previous firm experience). 

Assisting the Gender-Based Violence Fund1 with general commercial advice and drafting / reviewing contracts with various service providers in an effort to combat, and bring awareness to, gender-based violence and femicide (previous firm experience).
